Bella Boka is a sustainable water transportation company, and we were engaged to make a ticket selling mobile app.
Modern mobile market is divided between Android and iOS users. Users expect apps to be available on both platforms. Also, building an app for both iOS and Android can provide significant benefits in terms of audience reach, revenue, user experience, competitive advantage, and future-proofing.
Bella Boka is in the sustainable transportation business. To keep everything in the sustainability frame, we set a goal to make this app as fast as possible and easy to maintain, to make everything as reusable as possible. Doughnut economics on a code level.
We opted for a cross-platform solution. Twice the output for every single line of code. The app was built in React Native.
While choosing the right tools to build the app, we focused on several benefits of cross-platform solutions: cost-effectiveness, faster development, easy maintenance, greater reach, access to native features, and faster time-to-market.
One of the biggest advantages of React Native over other frameworks comes after the app is built. Both mobile platforms are handled in a single codebase, which can simplify maintenance and reduce the chances of errors or inconsistencies across different platforms. And we get to maintain one codebase, instead of two. That’s what I call sustainability.
