Cuckoo is a science-backed work ability platform helping companies reduce sick days, boost employee engagement, and build a culture of wellbeing - with zero extra admin burden.
They came to Bild with a B2B platform and a growth ceiling. Bild ran discovery, challenged the brief, and pivoted the entire product direction. The result: a gamified mobile wellbeing app now used by 20,000 people across 200+ companies worldwide.

Workplace wellbeing is a growing priority, but most solutions stay locked inside the corporate IT stack, invisible to the individual employee who actually needs them. Cuckoo had built something genuinely useful for companies. The problem was it wasn't reaching the people it was meant to serve.
With remote and hybrid work making it harder than ever for employees to feel connected and motivated during the workday, the gap between "good for companies to buy" and "something people actually use" was widening.
Cuckoo arrived at Bild with a brief to extend into B2B2C. But the real challenge, uncovered during discovery, went deeper: how do you make building healthy habits genuinely fun, simple, and sticky for someone working alone from a home office?

Discovery is less about asking what you want, it's about uncovering what you need. Rather than extending the existing web platform, structured research and competitor analysis revealed the real opportunity: meet users where they already were. On their phones.
Bild shifted the entire focus to designing and building a mobile app from scratch, paired with a redesign of the existing web app to support the expanded model. The strategic decision was to make the core loop - take a break, earn points, level up, repeat - effortless, visual, and social.
