Bikely is a Norwegian mobility-tech company building IoT-enabled smart bike lockers and parking solutions for cities, workplaces, and transit hubs across Europe. Their mission: eliminate the barriers to urban cycling, theft, parking uncertainty, lack of infrastructure and make sustainable transport a genuine choice.
The product existed and the potential was clear, but weak backend performance, poor UX, and no operational visibility were holding it back. Bild rebuilt the foundations across architecture, experience, and brand, turning a product prototype into a managed service platform ready for scale.

Bikely had the hardware, the mission, and the market. What they didn't have was a digital platform capable of carrying the weight of growth.
The backend was slow and generic, causing poor app behaviour and user drop-off at every turn. The UX was confusing, registration was friction-heavy, and onboarding wasn't converting. There was no admin panel to monitor usage, revenue, or locker performance across locations. And the architecture wasn't built to scale into new cities without significant rebuilding.
For a company competing in the urban mobility space, where user confidence and operational reliability are everything, these weren't minor issues. They were growth blockers.

Bild approached the engagement in three structured phases, each building on the last.
Phase 1: UX & Performance Foundation
App performance stabilised. UI refreshed with clearer actions and a language selector. Registration and onboarding simplified. Backend latency reduced, device integrations strengthened. The goal: get users activating and staying.
Phase 2: Operational Transparency & Control
A full admin dashboard built from scratch - tracking usage, locker locations, device status, revenue, and rental performance across all deployments. Cloud-based infrastructure set up to support both app and IoT services reliably at scale. This phase took Bikely from product prototype to managed service platform.
Phase 3: Brand & Digital Assets
New visual identity and logo designed to reflect where the brand was headed. Redesigned website aligned with the product and business goals. Stronger brand perception, broader adoption, more trust at first contact.

Bikely is no longer a product prototype, it's a scalable smart infrastructure platform. The architecture delivered is built to support expansion into new cities and partner markets across Europe, with the operational tooling to manage that growth without losing visibility or control.
Startups scale with resilience. Bikely is positioned to do exactly that.
Hardware is only half the story. The platform behind it, the architecture, the UX, the operational layer - is what determines whether it scales or stalls. That's the brief we're built for.
